A maximum of twelve
students are selected annually by
interview and portfolio. Applicants
whose previous experience has not
included theatre work may be asked
to prepare a special project. Shortlisted
applicants will sometimes be asked
to attend a second interview. We
welcome applicants from abroad and
those who cannot attend for an interview
may have to be selected on their
portfolio but plenty of time must
be allowed for correspondence.
Although
we demand postgraduate standard we do not require any degree or diploma as qualification
for entry. Applicants must be 21 or over. We do not offer any degree or diploma
but the Course ends with a one-week public exhibition held at the Royal National
Theatre Studio which is widely regarded as a showcase for the profession.
Those
wishing to apply for the Course should fill in the application form, attach a
passport-sized photograph, and send it to the administrator Catrin Martin.
rules:
- The fees are £4,750 for
the year and may be paid by the
term. In addition there is a registration
fee of £150
payable on acceptance of a place
on the Course.
- Students accepting
the offer of a place on the Motley
Theatre Design Course are liable
for the fees for the whole year,
whether or not they complete the
Course.
- Students must
inform the directors of the Course
in advance if they are unable to
attend the programme as arranged.
- No
outside designing may be accepted
without permission. This will be
granted whenever possible.
- Any
change of address must be notified
immediately.
- The trustees of the
Course reserve the right to terminate
the training of any student whose
attitude to the work proves unsatisfactory.
